Random boat trailer wiring question.

I have the 5-way flat wiring harness coming off of my jeep and the 4-way flat wiring harness on my boat trailer. Do you guys know of a simple adapter to connect the two or am I going to have to change one of the harnesses? Any suggestions?

I've never had a trailer or vehicle with a 5-pin plug, but I was under the impression that the first 4 pins in a 5-pin connector were the same as the 4-pin connectors. I think you can just plug the 4-pin into the 5-pin plug and it'll work. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

correct. i have a 5-pin on the truck and 4-pin on both trailers.

Yep its the flat 8 with the brakes involved that will give you the problems.

Thanks guys. That's what I tried originally thinking it would work and it hasn't. But since you guys have confirmed it, I went back to it today and it's working. I had some wires underneath that had disconnected. Thanks for helping me troubleshoot.
