Got up this morning and checked the Radar. Didn't look good but decided to go anyway and made the drive to the Cumberland. Me and my buddy had to wait till almost 5:30 to put in due to heavy rain but finally got on the water. We had a lot of good action with lookers, swirlers, hitters and what not. Rain came and went, off and on but nothing too serious. We only managed to boat three fish today but they were all quality. My first one was a solid 23 lbs followed by my friends 40 inch 29 lber. I then managed to land a 42 inch 33 lb fish that gave me all I wanted and that is the fish you see here. All were released to hopefully survive and be caught again someday. We used our standard Rockfish setup: Med/Hev rods, baitcaster reels, 17lb mono, Redfin lures, big net, strong shoulders, camera.

A mighty fine day with the rockfish. :)

You sir are my hero! I'm still trying to break 30lbs this year and you are wearing out the big ones!

THanks, I have definitely been blessed with some big fish this summer. I think this is the fourth one this summer over 30lbs.

Dbllunger, if I lived closer you would see me chasing the stripers where you are. I love catching them, especially on top. I made a mold and pour 12" sluggos. On days they do not want the redfin, sometimes the big sluggo does the trick. A spro bbz-1 will do the trick on occasion also.
