Most of my spots are dictated by the Ohio River at Cairo gauge. Even though they are located closer to the MS river proper, the Cairo gauge is what gives best info. We've got a ways to go but the NWS graph shows a jump up to 26' after this rain we're currently getting. That should help some of the public areas run more pumps or possibly fill up some units that have been lacking. We need at least 10 more feet on that gauge to even consider hunting our main spot. So, I am hoping this here will be the primer to get us to more "normal" levels and we can get Mother Nature to cooperate over the next couple weeks. Then, come mid January maybe we'll have something to work with.
On the positive side this cold weather coming in before Christmas should help move ducks down. Even if they're not exactly where I want them to be if they can just get to more southern latitudes before the days start getting longer again I feel like we'll have something to work with.
