Rain wear

Guys after getting soaked the last two weekends,all jokes aside time to buy a better rainsuit . My brother wears Mt050 but it isn't very durable considering I hunt alot thicker woods with briar bushes just waiting to snag something.Just wondering what is durable in the $250.00 price range.Any advice on what to buy

I bought a set of Sitka Downpour this year. I bought last year's camo pattern for a big discount. I've worn it once while hunting in the rain and once while scouting.

It is almost too warm to wear while scouting in warm weather. I was sweating like crazy.

I can't compare it to the Cabelas stuff, but I like it just fine. I'm not sure it if I knew I were going to constantly be going grouch briars though.

GI Goretex. Buddy of mine gave me a jacket and pants. I love it. Durable and it breaths.

If your a stand hunter why not buy a pair of frog toggs? Slip them over your clothing when it rains.

Invest your savings and purchase some quality merino wool base layers and some good wind breaker outer wear.

When I am in a tree stand I use one of those tree stand umbrellas. I Carry one in my pack. If there is a chance of rain I screw the stud into the tree. If the rain starts it only takes a minute to put up the umbrella part. I have a rain suit that I use when on the ground. I can't remember the brand. But after every use it gets washed and dried. Then a good coating of Camp Dry. then I let it hang outside for a couple days for the smell to wear off.

Anything LL Bean. It is always on sale and they have a lifetime warranty. My dad returns his gear dating back to the 1970's at least every few years and they give him store credit at today's values. That's about the only clothing I'll buy these days.
