Anyone ever use frogg togg rainwear? If so how do you like it? It seems to be priced very reasonable especially compared to the rain suits at a hunting store.
 
It's great. I was skeptical at first since it doesn't look very durable, but it wears like iron. I took a set on a 10 day backpacking trip in the Rockies this summer, wore it nearly every day, and it held up just fine.

The reviews I saw all commented on the excessive noise if used for hunting
 
I've had two sets. Both pants ripped first or second time out and they are not waterproof for long. Once they become saturated, they will leak.

Wore mine for the first time this week and absolutely loved it!! It was great for the wind that was blowing too, I was cozy the whole time cuz no wind was coming through my clothes!! Also, I was hunting a CRP field and although loud, it didn't develop a single tear through all the briars I walked through....just my 2 cents.

I've had two pair. Wouldnt use them for hunting but summertime use excellant. Only thing, they fuzzball REALLY bad and start wearing out after a couple years. I would just get something more durable. BUT good for hot weather.
 
Mine have NEVER leaked. I do get wet around the waist in VERY heavy or long rains where the elastic waist band on the jacket rides up.

I have to agree with the above statement, the stuff is short term rain wear at best.

I've had the same Gore-tex jacket for over 15 years. It keeps you warm when it's cold....warm when it's windy.......dry when it's wet. It was pricey when I bought it, but has more than paid for itself.
 
I was disappointed in the frog toggs.
They are good to throw in the boat or back of the car for getting caught in a brief shower but soak through in the elbows/knees/seat during prolonged exposure to rain.

Spend the extra bucks and get something decent. I have had great performance out of the cabelas dry plus line and the mt-050 stuff.
