Ever been tapping a hole in a lathe and forget to loosen up the carriage up? :D

Just thought about that when I read your replies on the scope tap thread. :D


My favorite is drilling and tapping multiple holes in a die plate and some of them are blind and some aren't and you forget and ram it home. :D

LOL...I better not comment on this subject anymore. My wife don't know I'm such an experienced Machinist.

I used to work as a process engineer on some machining lines. I've made some loud noises. :whistle:

They sent a cutting section out to be wired one time.
Can't remember the exact circumstances but my boss came to me and told me to take a quarter inch off the thickness.

To this day I don't know how I did it but I put it on the grinder (blanchard) upside down and took all the die life out of the section.

$35,000 die section.

I had to tell my boss I messed up.

That was NOT a good conversation. :)
