Last year I bought a Collarum live capture snare to try and catch some coyotes that come into the neighborhood.
However, something kept tripping the snare. So, I set up a game camera and learned it was raccoons that were tugging at the scented patch on the trigger.

Any ideas on how to keep them off of it?

The bass pro (local and online) has the powder coated brown Duke DP's for 24.99 and on a few of the more popular trapping sites they are 9.99 to 12.99. I have yet to use them, but all I hear is great things (and see on youtube).
