You can do a public records request and get the data regarding how many priority points it takes to draw each quota hunt. Members have done it on here in the past and posted the results for everyone. I just did a records request myself for this data but got a response back stating:

"Tenn. Code Ann. §10-7-503(a)(2)(A) provides that public records shall be "open for personal inspection by any citizen of this state". Hence, before I can proceed, I will need to see proof of your TN citizenship. You may submit a photo of your DL or send your DL#, for your convenience."

And i'm not a resident, therefore I can't get the information.

Would any member here be so kind to do the request for us and post the information you receive? All you have to do is send an e-mail to:

[email protected]

You can even copy/paste my request below:

Hi,

I was interested in obtaining records showing the number of priority points it took to draw each quota deer hunt last season (2024 season) and this season's turkey hunts.

Its super quick and easy. I do these requests for several states every year.

Here's the reply
Good morning, Mr. Harris,

Thank you for your prompt reply. I have reached out to the Licensing division to request the information you wanted. Give me until the end of the week to provide them, but rest assured I will send them as soon as I receive them myself.

Sincerely,

Are you running a business to put folks in for the likeliest chances for a draw?

Nope. Just would like to know what point levels hunts are at now. Im looking to burn soon. And figured a bunch of others on here would like to know too.

I don't know if that group is just understaffed or underskilled, but even the Elk hunt information they published is 3-4 years old.

This is the type of stuff I could analyze and generate in 1-2 hours. I don't get it.
I don't think it would take 5 mins.
Other states release the reports as soon as draw results are available. It's literally the same report used to issue tags.

A lot of states make available the # of applicants for each hunt and how many points are needed. GA for sure....KY tells you how many points you need.

Looking at Presidents Island, am I looking at that right. They drew 52 hunters for the December hunt last year?
That's what it looks like. My understanding is that if they draw a party that puts them over the exact quota then they all go instead of going to a party with the exact number. It appears last year they may have gotten to 49 drawn and drew a party of 3 or got to 48 and drew a party of 4 to end up with 52.

I guess my odds of drawing this year with 14 pts is pretty good. I guess depending on how many that are sitting on 14 or more points that put in for a point last year.
Here is the breakdown of number of people in each priority point group going into this year's draw:

I'm glad a came across this thread. I'd included a hunt that would probably have leftover permits. Went back and removed it. Not looking to burn my point...

I'm assuming a lot of hunters are just putting in for points that have 13+ points since there were some that got drawn last year with 13 points. I don't have a lot of faith in the draw system. I know a couple people that have been drawn 2 years in a row although it was several years ago.
