I'm looking at thread-on suppressors for my Rock River .223 AR - no flash suppressor or other stuff hanging on the end of the 16" barrel. Quicksilver has a titanium they say will work for the .223 down to my .17 HMR, and they'll give a LE discount.

Anyone have any experience with this brand? Comments?

silencertalk.com is THE source for your answer. Most if not all prominant suppressor manufacturers will give LE discount. Do the homework and don't buy the first one that offers a discount. I can tell you that Ops Inc 3rd Model 30cal will take a .308 bolt rifle down to .22mag or less. Built like a tank and I'll never need another.

Thank you, WC. I've been visiting a lot of sites where suppressors are discussed, but silencertalk wasn't one - thanks for the reference. My hearing is shot (no pun intended, but very accurate none-the-less), so I'm working on .223 and below to get as quiet a report as possible. I hate wearing those darned electronic hearing protection when hunting!

I've got a .243 with a long heavy varmint barrel that's quieter than any AR I've ever shot. It's a weight to carry around all day, but it's sweet and quiet to shoot. A 26" bolt gun in .223-.243 doesn't bother my ears at all, and I've got pretty sensitive ears. I couldn't stand shooting my 16" AR with flash suppressor even with earmuffs on so I sold it and got a 20" HBAR. Had to get rid of that @#$% BOSS thing on my A-bolt .30-06 too and get the one without the brake holes.
