quick question about getting busted

if a deer comes in close and busts you, do you sit and wait a while and is that deer or other deer likely to show up again? I'm asking cause I had my bow drawn but got busted by a doe and fawn in thick undergrowth at 10-15 yards. I'll be sitting here a while but wondering if I should move to another area, plenty of good deer sign. Last year during gun season I had a buck come in and bust me when the lever on my gun clicked, but 15 mins later he came back on the same route. Basically I need some of yall to tell me to stay put so I don't go walking around and bumping deer!

Stay put if you are in a good area with plenty of sign. That particular deer may or may not come back, but others may if there is plenty of sign around. It is prime time of the morning right now, and I wouldn't be moving. Just my $0.02.

Just because they spook doesn't mean that other deer won't come through. It has happened to me twice already this season. Deer can come from any direction in the woods, and one is bound to come in downwind from you eventually. The next one may be upwind.

well I am sitting and no more movement yet. But I will sit a while longer because when I came in and scouted here last week I bumped 2 does in the early afternoon. I gotta be out of here by noon but that gives me 3 more hours...

I've hit a doe grunt call before and calmed deer down enough that they started feeding towards me again. But that's when they get spooked by sound or slight movement never when they smelled me. stick one

I sat till around 10 am and then walked around a while before leaving, and of course bumped another doe and fawn on the way out... they were there just to taunt me.

The doe that busted me - I think she smelled me cause she was generally downwind when she blew and ran off. When she did, she was hidden behind privet bushes and the fawn had the rear half of its body exposed, so I had no shot. It's not a WMA so I'm gonna make some shooting lanes.

But I found a good, very fresh rub in an adjacent grown-up field that is loaded with deer sign and bedding areas, I mean the trails are so many it's like a spider web of deer trails. Right next to the rub was some clumped up droppings... right away I thought "buck poop" funny coincidence. I may set there one morning or evening in my chair and see if any deer move by coming to or from the bed. No tree big enough for a stand but plenty of cover to sit and hide in.
