I just bought a Ruger 25-06 What do you think about the performance to my 30-06 who likes them and who doesn't for Deer use and varmint only?????
Please reply

Thanks,

Great deer gun. I never have had one take a step. The last one I had liked the Winchester 120 gr. positive expanding point. I have also had good results with 100 gr. Nosler ballistic tips.

I use a Ruger M77 MKII in 25-06 with stainless target barrel.... it shoots like a dream .... don't ever plan on selling it.

I took the laminated wood stock off and replaced it with a Hogue Rubber over-molded stock with the full aluminum bed block. It hasn't let me down yet:

I have a Ruger M77 Mark II with the all weather skeleton stock in 25/06. I have killed several deer with it. I also have a Rem 7600 pump in 25/06, and have killed several with it. I do my own reloading. I use a 120 gr Nosler BT with Accurate Arms 4350. I think it is 52 grains, but I may be off. I own 30/06, 270,243,303,7.62x39,308 and 223. The 25/06 is my go to round when I want the job done right. All the other calibers are great as well, but I just love shooting my 25's.

I passed up on a 25-06 years ago, when I knew nothing about it, because I was told the 25-06 was mostly a varmint round. Now that I;ve done some research, I wish I'd have bought it. I think it would be a great long range whitetail or antelope gun.
