So I was playing a round of golf with the superintendent at the course i am a member at .....as buck sporting their newly grown antlers crossed the fair way I jokingly ask when he was going to let me hunt and he replied ill write you permission as soon as we finish to my surprise! So i guess what i am getting at is these deer are simply not scared of you as long as you are within 30 yards or so....I have seen some great bucks out there and would love to take one of their caliber. Am I wrong to hunt this property? It almost seems to unfair on the animals side....I would love to get some feed back and peoples opinions
 
Killed my first deer with a bow from a country club in virginia.....club members were complaining about the deer eating their plants....shot a doe early a.m. when no one was around after she came off of the 18th Tbox, then shot a buck behind the driving range.

I am betting if you don't get the big one right away...he will figure something is up....scent in the woods that sticks around when there normally isn't scent in the woods. Also, how much woods are there? How far will he be going if you make him uncomfortable?

If you are happy hunting that property...and it is legal, than do so, don't try and please everyone on here, because that's just not going to happen.
 
I'd do it while you have the chance without hesitation. Getting a chance at bucks that have had a chance to mature unmolested is something most hunters never experience. I live near a manufacturing plant that enclosed about 1,000 acres with a fence when it was built. After a few years there were older bucks all over the place. Lot's of people, myself included, would drive by there in the Fall to see the bucks. There would often be a dozen mature bucks laying out in a pasture a few hundred yards from the road acting more like bulls than bucks. A few more years down the road the numbers started getting uncomfortably high in there and I hear that some very limited/restricted archery hunts were allowed. I can't say for sure whether or not that is true or if the deer had a big die-off from over population reasons, but I do know deer sightings within the fenced off area dropped drastically. My point being that whether it by hunting or nature, deer numbers need to be held in check. If you get luck enough to hunt such a place, jump at it.
 
Nothing questionable about it. Be happy with the opportunity and make the most of it.
 
The property is around 700+ acres. It will be bow hunting only. I am counting down the days and allows me to have a solid place to hunt in Georgia along with a few extra tags, since my farm is in middle tn. Here is a picture of one of the many rubs this size around the property.
 
Do What makes you happy. Would I do it? Most likely not but If I did I would most likely do as Poser suggested. I would find it a way to make it a challenge.

I would agree too, spend one day hunting them with a bow and they will be wild pressured deer the next day.
