I know someone (actually, the friend of a friend) who bought a NIB left hand BAR shorttrac in 300WSM last fall and wants to sell it. It has never been fired. I know the list price from Browning is pretty high, about $1200-1300, but don't know what a reasonable price is for buying a gun like this (everything I have ever bought used has been WELL used!). I really don't need it, so if I bought it and later decide to sell it I don't want to end up losing my shirt over it.

LH auto rifles are not in big demand compared to LH bolt rifles. If you need to sell it, you will more than likely take a larger loss than if it were a RH auto rifle.

Yeah, I know the market is pretty small for LH auto rifles. I can get it for $600, which seems like a good deal considering it has never been fired. Like I said, I really don't need it but I guess it would be a pretty good choice, caliber wise, to use if I ever got around to making that elk hunting trip out west that I haven't gotten around to yet (although my Tikka 30-06 would handle that duty just fine, too).
