What is the deal with using the sabotless bullets? Advantages ? Disadvantages? How do you press bullets down barrel and are the bullets being cut with rifling of the barrel? I was curious about these things being total newbie I have only used sabot bullets.

You loose the saftey margin of the sabot.you can double load the powder & it will blow the petals off the sabot from what i have read.buldged barrels are more common with folks trying to push stuff faster.i will stick with sabots for the saftey aspect.if i can get A 250g pushing 2200-2500fps Im going to be a happy camper.anybody got a crony that aint been shot yet? Lmao

Mike I shot mine today with the chrony. I was getting in the mid 19's. with 44gr's. of AA5744 and a 250 gr shockeave and a MMP sabot. The Savage manual says I should do better than that. This whole smokeless thing is a learning curve. It gives me something to do. I think I am going to try a different powder.

I like the n110,didnt like it cost me a shat load of $ to ship, these dip shats that snag every thing wont have to buy any thing for 20 years lol ,im looking for a fairly flat shooting combo, most of my shots will be 100y or less I think lol, might need to stretch it during rifle season ,all of our barrels will show different velocity's due to barrel constrictions, somebody else's results will not always be the same as the next shooter,we will get in the ball park but the most accurate load will win,

You can push a sabotless bullet with more powder. You can also probably get more accuracy when you get the right combination.
However; to do it right, you need a bullet sizing die that will form your bullet to just the right size for your barrel.

Agreed with ^^. It also takes the sabot variable out of the equation which might help accuracy. I got lucky & found that .452 is perfect for my stalker. I had a guy on Doug's send me 15 225 ftx's that are already sized for my apex, probably try those this weekend.

No sure which way I'm gonna end up with for hunting but I'm having a great time experimenting & am fortunate to be able to do it with a couple fellow smokeless shooters.
If you east siders get to pull off your shoot I believe it will benefit y'all greatly as I've learned a bunch from the 2 I shoot with.
Almost forgot.... You don't have to wait for the barrel to cool!!
