I have noticed that the few days that I have seen deer while I'm in my stand that there is hardly any squirrels running around. When the tree rats are running around everywhere I usually don't see any deer. What are y'all's observations on this subject?

I've noticed that in the evening when the squirrels go to their den and the woods get quiet the deer move better.

I've seen it go both ways. Sometimes I'll be watching a squirrel, and then boom, there's a deer, and other times it's dead as 4 in the morning, and then there's a deer.

I've seen deer with a few squirrels running around, but when the entire population of squirrels are out, barking and being extremely obnoxious, i hardly ever see deer. I have been paying attention to the same thing this year, trying to figure out if there is a connection.

I dont think there is any connection. Game typically move better in certain days, for whatever the reason. I believe weather and pressure have a lot to do with it.

I agree with Woodsman87. I have noticed that deer don't like to move when its extremely quiet and every step is crunchy. They seem to wait till the breeze picks up a little later in the morning on those quiet days.
