Question about breach plugs

Never have but several guys that shoot smokeless do. Never heard of it used on conventional muzzleloaders, but that doesn't mean it doesn't happen.

Yes it does but why would you be burning Teflon tape on your breach plug threads? I use tape all the time and never find any of it burnt. If that much heat is reaching the threads, you have a defect or you simply did not install the plug correctly. Some plugs like newer CVAs with the QRBP need no tape or antisieze when correctly installed.
