question about a slug barrel

I was wondering if its OK to shoot 00 buck through a slug barrel. I almost got run over by some pigs last night and I only had slugs in my gun. I basically stuck the gun to ones head as it was coming at me and I had to kick another in the face. I killed 1 of 11 out of 5 shots. if I'd had 00 Buck i feel like I could have killed more.

I don't think buckshot legal any where in Tn to hunt with any more
