Shot one this evening and when the smoke cleared he was trotting off with tail tucked and left leg straight out in front of him not moving fast at all, does this sound like a shoulder hit ?

I found him but not before the coyotes got to him, could not believe how tore up he was wasn't a whole lot left

coyotes got him within hours.must be an insane amount. Congrats on a good score.Seem's the coyote population is crazy everywhere.

How long between the shot and finding him?
 
It was about 2 hours after shooting him that I located him, lol about the boots had a friend call this morning about that should have told wife to stand to the side.

Nice one! I heard a shot yesterday that was so close we investigated it. A 20 year old kid came barreling down on us in a Ranger. I told him who I was (adjoining landowner) and after that we had a candid and polite discussion. He had shot a coyote right on the property line. He showed me that my use of an old fence for a property marker was inaccurate. Nice, respectful boy. Point being? Kill some of those damned coyotes. We have very few, but if they are that quick, blast some.
