Question about a 45-90 cartridge

A friend of mine was asking about 45-70 and 45-90 cartridge for a rifle that shoots both cartridges. I got to looking for the 45-90 and I cannot find anything in regards to it.

Is this a blackpowder load or what? Or can you give me any information on the cartridge?
