It's getting to be that time—oldest is 6.5 years. Need to find a rifle that is the right size for that age shooter.

About that age I shot a Marlin Model 60; the stock was way too big for me. Wasn't until I was 10 or 11 that I got comfortable with it. Until then, the rim of the truck bed was doing all the work holding up the forend. 😂

Any suggestions on a rifle model? He's got two little brothers, so it'll need built to last. That's what gives me pause about those Cricket guns and the like.

The T1x has a 13.25" lop, which is fairly short. If they outgrow that just buy a t3x recoil pad and put on the stock to make the lop 13.75"

I gave all my grandchildren Savage Rascals..
That's what my oldest has, who is also 6.5
The youngest will probably have his here before long (father in law has gotten one for all his grand kids).

It's funny I got the old BB gun out and he tried shooting a couple shots last week and that thing is way too big for him. Rascal is much better sized but still slightly too long. Got some sub-sonics he can shoot when he's ready for that but I'd like to get a smaller BB gun first.

I gifted an S&W 22-15? to family. The grandchildren loved shooting what they called a "Pactice AR.".

I used it for 3 years to train-with.....

Placed an order for a Savage Rascal through a local gun shop; looking forward to it coming in!

This is an account I created (and hardly used) in 2020. Logged in with my e-mail address instead of my username and started wondering why the heck I was now a "new member." 😅

Anyway, looking forward to this rifle coming in.
