What are your thoughts on before starting the qdma meetings people briefly introduce their self? Maybe name, how much land they have or leasing and if they are tndeer members. Watcha think?

I like your thinking as far as getting to know one another, but I think if we went around the room each meeting it would take a long time and might get repetitive after a couple times. Not saying that it is undoable, but maybe we could accomplish the same thing another way.

Couple thoughts along the same lines...

We are going to do permanent nametags that you pick up when you arrive and then drop off after the meeting. Different color for QDMA members, officers, committee members etc. That should help with getting to know one another and identifying newcomers so that we can make them feel welcome. We could include TnDeer screen names on the nametags.

I think I mentioned at the meeting that we would like to do a 30 minute meet-and-greet before the meeting with sponsor-provided refreshments... another get-to-know you thing. Don't know if there would be enough sponsors willing to pony up a hundred bucks or so in return for giving them a couple minutes to present their business to the members. Would love to get thoughts on that.

I'm also thinking about a show-and-tell time for anyone interested in showing photos of their property, their projects, their trophys, whatever... Presenters would have to submit photos to me beforehand so that I can put them into the powerpoint.

That said, I'm open to suggestions on how to improve the meetings and this is probably a good forum to discuss that. Throwing it out for comments and suggestions.

Considering I've already published it once, I would be happy to share what we've done on my place. It is rare that a landowner has detailed data from before they started managing, as a comparison. I've got many years of detailed data from before we started managing, plus years of data indicating how the different stages of our management process have played out, as well as detailed maps/records of how the habitat has changed over a 27-year period. All already in Powerpoint... ;)

That would be terrific. I'll shoot you a PM.

Just make sure the meetings are compact. You don't want folks to lose interest because meetings run too long.
Great ideas, though.
