Purchasing a cell camera

I've been running a couple of tactacams for the past few years with pretty good luck. Well my luck ran out back in the spring when the river put my camera under water for a week or so…she's toast! Soooo…I'm in the market. What's the best quality picture cell cams out there right now and what's the most reliable? Stay with tactacam or try something new?? Appreciate any help!

I don't have any experience with cell cams except for one tactacam reveal my kids bought me for Christmas some time back. It's been running 3yrs 24/7/365 and hasn't yet stopped sending pics. They're not the best pics but plenty good enough to see what im looking at. I didn't really want a cell cam and probably won't ever buy another one but its reliability is growing on me.

I purchased Browning cams last season and was pleased with them. They run some pretty good sales on them.

I have some Spypoint Flex M cell cams that are very easy on batteries and take nice photo's!!

I've tried almost all of them. Not overly impressed with SPYPOINT or tacticam… browning scout pros have been the most reliable of any I've tried. Not the best pics but you don't have to worry about battery life or it missing deer.

This year I'm running wiseeye cams. I'll let you know what I think about them in another month or so.

I've been very happy with Tactacam. Just ran them one year so far. Good pictures, reasonable plans, easy setup. I also run some Meidase cameras. The video clip you get to your phone isn't great at all. Pictures are good. They are dirt cheap on Amazon, been running them 2-3 years - very reliable, reasonable priced plans, easy to turn off plan and back on. I tried a Stealth cam - it was garbage. I threw it in the trash.

I have a question on these cameras; will they run on a regular card, say an AT&T card pulled out of your phone? Or do they have to be a special plan where they are digitally encoded for just the cameras?

I have three Moultrie edge. I've been using for almost 2 years. I am satisfied. They will pick up even a very weak service and send pictures and videos. No card just turn on and you're good to go. You need the app of course.

I bought the 2 pack for 99 dollars Moultrie Edge and Walmart several months ago. They are still in the package. Ive never used a cell cam before. I got these for some of my Cherokee forest areas. It's an inclined walk in that area. Maybe these will make it a little easier. I really only hunt out there in the rut. Might try muzzleloader out there this year. Glad to hear they work good

We have a bunch of cell cams , I'd guess at least 20-25. More Tatacams's than anything as they work well in our area. I've got 5 of them plus one of their Defend Security Cams. One of mine is the first generation and still working well. Customer service is good, but expect a long wait time. Have option to leave a call back number and they've always called when I chose that option.

None of the pic quality on any brands we have is as good as non cell cams. Several members live 2-3 hours away so cell are good choices for them. Browning is the only one that I know of that doesn't work well in our area for some reason.

Everyone runs lithium and/or solar. I made the switch to rechargeable lithium packs a couple years ago. Game changer for me as I buy the knockoff brands on Amazon.

I do like Spartans. My BIL had one (which ended up running), and it was pretty good. High-quality images. Didn't seem to miss anything.

My property has zero cell reception in the bottom plots and very weak signal on the ridge so I experimented with one Spartan to see if it would work. I am now running three and they operate flawlessly.

I've got the same issues. I use Edge and they seam to get the pictures to me when a signal gets through. Not real time all the time but good.
