I have a pup out of my older West Siberian Laika i have started hunting alone. About two weeks ago i took her to a place and turned her out and right off she treed and i killed the squirrel. As she came by me soon after i saw a lot of blood coming from her back lower leg. Sure enough a bad cut, so to the vet we went and they stapled her up. She got her staples out and her leg was fine so yesterday i new she needed hunting so away we go. Two minutes after turning her loose i see blood again, and i think she had torn her leg open, so i get her and cant belive it another bad cut on her foot on the same leg. Here we go to the vet again and she has to be knocked out again for stiches. I have hunted there over the years many times and no problem but wont go back. The place where i turn out there are some old cars and some metal for just a little ways then beautiful woods, but i'm done those squirrels are safe now. If i pulled in there again i dont think poor Sophie would get out of the truck. Lol So Sophie and i are out for two more weeks. Hope yall are having better luck.
