A lot talking about being pumped up for opening day ( bow, muzzleloader, and rifle ). But who is pumped about taking the young uns? I have been lucky to be able to take a kid for many a year but this year it will be my own. Anybody else out there ready and pumped?

I was really hoping to take my oldest daughter (7) this year, but she is just not ready. She is a princess and cannot stand the recoil from the AR, so I won't push her. Maybe next year, but I was REALLY hoping that this would be the year.

A crossbow would be her best bet, that is how my 6 year old danty daughter shot her first deer.

I'm taking my daughter for her first juvenile hunt and I'm so happy that I'm gonna have to sit on my hands to keep from clapping. I think she is too.

I've got three girls and all hunt. I can't wait, this is my oldest daughters last juvenile hunt so I got to try hard to get her one. My two buddies are taking my other girls. Hope all 3 get one.

taking my 9 yr old this weekend, it is his first season as we recently moved to TN and in our old state he couldn't hunt until he was 10. between football and school all he wants to do is target shoot so he's ready for the big day. He's having trouble getting to sleep at night because of the excitement.

I hope to be taking my daughter. She is undecided on whether or not she wants to go. Good luck to all the kids and parents this weekend. This is truly a weekend to make lifetime memories.

My son is six this year and ready to go. I have spent quite a bit of money this year modifying my 30-30 to where he can shoot it. My brother in law and I put up a blind yesterday midday and brushed it in good in a spot where he has a bunch of pictures of deer. We are ready.

Taking my Daughter Saturday, she is 10, has killed 1 deer, she hunts maybe twice a yr. Then taking my son who is 11 Sunday. He has killed 9 deer. He hunts all yr, gun, and also muzzle loader. I hunt a couple days archery, then the gun, and muzzle loader is for them. Hope she wants to go more this year !

I was so pumped about it I didn't even bow hunt, trying to stay out of the area so blake would have a good chance at the big 10, well long story short found out Saturday we have lost the place! so now we are bummed and no place to go! gonna hit tva Saturday morning hope for best

Are you kidding? Of course I'm excited. I try and take as many as I can. I love pulling the gun from em and shooting em myself. I just need the kids for my tags.

Me and my 8 year old just packed a two person ladder stand a mile into the woods tonight. Into a area I have been seeing a ton of deer. It was cool to see how excited he got when I showed him all how beat down the deer trails were. I don't know who is more excited him or me.
