Looking to do a public land Merriams hunt this spring. I already have a few ideas on places to go based on research but any other helpful hints would be nice. I.e. General location and time of year plus anything else y'all are willing to tell.

Thanks in advance

I have turkey points in CO. I've read that folks get the points to hunt Rios down lower and a Merriam's can be hunted with no points. I haven't done much research into it though.

I have hunted montana, wyoming, and south dakota several times.....all are good. Montana has the least amount of pressure. SD blackhills had the most pressure.
The weather that far north can be very tricky. 6 inches of snow will limit your road access. I have hunted there from mid April to mid may....each time the weather was biggest factor in success.
I am considering new mexico just to avoid the bad weather.
