I don't have a gun safe and the ones I want cost alot of $$$. I bought some of the silicone impregnated gun socks. I wipe my rifles down with a Hoppes silicone cloth thoroughly. I then store them in a gun case, since that is all I got. Will the gun socks prevent rust?

By themselves, no.

I have to use gun socks on some of my guns and I still give them a good cleaning 3-4 times a year ever if I haven't fired them at all.

Never store your guns in a gun case unless you have the silica dessicants in the case. Moisture is trapped in the case and over a period of time will begin to rust your rifle. The dessicants will help absorb the moisture.

Dicks Sporting goods has some Stack-On safes at a reasonable price on sale. Also check out Tractor Supply Company and Champion Safe. Champion Safe has some scratch and dents for sale at a very good price.

YEP I hate rust too.

Another question is my bonus room gets really hot in the summer. What if I stored them up there in a safe? Even if I get a gun safe that is the only place I could put it.

should be fine as long as you control moisture and keep clean and oiled.I like RIG.
