Anone catch any today..thinking about taking my son in the morning(he chose fishing over juvi deer hunt!!)and info would help on catch them..all i have in the TB is berkleys trout bait(rainbow)..

never fished there, but try taking that rainbow flavor power bait and roll it in a ball w hook inside, then roll it between your palms to make it look like a worm 2-3 inch long, use a split shot and adjust leader till they bite, use 4-6 lb test, if no bite in 20-30 min, cast in different spot, adjust leader
also try a combo plate using a j hook , put a corn, powerbait and live worm in that order, and meanwhile make sure to throw out some lures like kastmasters, roosters.these are steady retrieve lures, good luck.

Well we went, what a WASTED trip!!!The stocked all those fish yesterday..the corps opens up the generators, the fish get washed down river, then this morning there is HARDLY ANY WATER at all!!GRRR!!! Dont waste ya gas guys..I guess they turned on the gen's ,washed the fish away, and then turned them off last night..

wished i would have read this before i went, it sucked, i even went way down stream and still got nothing...tennessee fishing sucks, maybe i should move back to florida

I've been fishing in the forks of the stones river down in smyrna/M'boro area. I just use rooster tails. Caught 7 this morning. I just throw them back. Last year after the end of March and early April stocking we would wear them out. sometimes 25-30 in a day.

i have seen days when i would say florida fishing sucks :D

When I lived in Memphis, a fellow moved from Syracuse, NY and asked me about places to fish around Memphis. I told him MANY places, how to get there, and the whens and methods to use. He lived in Memphis for many years, and repeatedly told me how sorry the fishing was around Memphis, and that it didn't compare with western New York! Some of the finest fishing anywhere is within 100 miles of Memphis, including all of the North Mississippi corp lakes, Reelfoot, Pickwick, all of the Mississippi river oxbows, and on and on and on. I think maybe these fellows that move to Tennessee, or wherever, have some sort of agenda, don't like the area, their job, etc. and just want to be unhappy about everything up here. And our fishing is a convenient subject to put down. Or maybe these people just can't catch fish, anywhere! LOL I think that Tennessee fishing is super. At one time the state led the nation in the sale of Non-resident licenses.

I was down there Saturday saw around 30 trout caught. Was back there on Monday before they started the generators. The water was up and muddier. I guess backed up from the river. It was slower only 15 or so caught. Try the deep hole below the bridge. All the fish were caught on artifical lures.

I used to live in the area around the dam and have caught trout through the summer below the bridge and in some of the holes down the river. I have seen pictures of trout caught out of some of those holes in the 22-24" range, so they must have survived the summer at least once.
