This is coming from a novice in the area... I have fished priest very few times and don't know the ways of catching fish out there yet. Mostly trolled with my buddy, who of course caught the biggest fish yet again without even trying. The flathead was 13 lbs 4 oz. We caught a couple yellow bass, largemouth, a drum, and a keeper crappie which is in my cooler. the crappie was maybe 12 or 13 inches, haven't even measured it. Exact same spot I caught an identical crappie 3 days ago, on the same lure.
We were trolling whatever crankbait looked good, mostly fire tiger colored lures, my favorite being a rapala JSR-5. My buddy caught the catfish on some random unknown firetiger lure he found snagged somewhere.
The storm was approaching... the 5 horse Briggs was pushing us about 6 mph...
...and the rain hit just as we made it to the no-wake zone at Elm Hill...
my buddy with the cat
Tennessee Redfish....
I did not get a pic of the crappie, but here is the identical one from 3 days ago -
I will figure it out.... not too much longer though, until I am in the woods wearing camo
