I have never had the chance to hunt Percy Priest WMA, but will probably be able to sneak out there for a few afternoons this year after work and on other days that I might not make the drive to any of my primary spots for this year. I have found a couple of potential promising areas of Percy Priest, but how bad is the pressure during the first bow season? How is the herd? Any information of seasoned lake veterans is appreciated.

The parts that I've hunted I never run into anyone during Archery, once ML opens there are a few more people but not horrible.

That's what I was hoping to hear. WMAs aren't too awfully packed during Archery, but old threads that I was reading were suggesting that it was slammed full with hunters everywhere.

theres usually a small crowd around the easiest accessed areas. If you have to work to get in, you should be fine

I normally only see hunters at the parking areas or on the way back to the truck.

I have had some screw my hunts up before though. One guy was just walking through the woods whistling and letting his dog run all around . That was annoying but it's not a regular thing.

During the week is your best bet.

Archery season is not bad. like others said, the easy access points can have some people. During the week you should have your pick of places, but it is public land. After ML starts up you may start seeing people.

Been hunting private land the last couple of years, would like to hunt public land.

Lots of deer on Priest WMA and I have been blessed and killed a bunch there. Killed a few nice bucks. Haven't hunted it much last few years, but the areas I hunt are getting more what I call recreational pressure, people hiking, walking their dog, etc. If they come by, for the most part, try not to be noticed and let them just go on their way. Even if they hang out a few minutes, deer will almost come in right behind them if it is somewhere the deer want to be. Be absolutely sure when you do shoot though, more and more people are using that WMA for many different activities.
