Looks like it is going to be a pretty good supper, too. And before somebody starts slobberin, it was a private lake on private ground and stocked with private funds. Ergo- no limit and no license required.

Fluke, frog and small spinner bait.
 
Not to fuss, more to ask... So you're telling me that I could do what I wanted to on my property in my pond? I knew I needed no license but I thought the limits still applied? Again, just asking.
 
Awesome catch, technically though if you don't own that lake then you were suppose to have a license, which we all know you did anyway.

Bowriter was talking about another state. Creel limits apply in TN.
 
Thanks SCN. I've been checked fishing but always had my license anyways. I figured since the limits applied to game animals like deer it would to fish also but I wasn't sure. It's good to know. Thanks

Creek limits apply to private ponds in tn?? I didn't think they did

Ask SCN. This was in AL and it is a private club as far as the fishing goes. I will not comment on TN.

Thechnically, since it is a private club and in AL...no I dint :) All I had to have is a club membership. And I is a charter member.
 
Let me explain...again.

The lake(s) are totally owned by Plantation Oaks, Inc. They payed 100% of the cost of contruction, 100% of the cost of stocking with hatchery fish-no wild fish at all. They pay 100% of the cost of maintainance and management. There is no state involvement what so ever.

I do not know about TN but, in AL they completely set the rules. To fish there, you must be a member of the White Oaks club. No other fishing is allowed except for charity events.

The limits and rules are all club responisibility. For example: There is no limit of bream until a certaqin quota for the year is met. With bass, you are allowed one trophy fish. When the population needs reducing, you keep everything under two pounds with no limit until the number desired to be culled is reached. This year, we needed to cull 100 from one lake and 150 from another. That has now been done. Now, the lakes can be fertilized and the feeders started again. In 18-months, the bream population will be back where we want it and the bass will be pushing that 13-15 pound mark.
 
Man that is a nice stringer of fish. You can get spoiled on them private ponds though, that's the only bad thing about them. I had a private pond where i could pull 5 4-6 lb cats out in less than an hour. When my buddy got divorced that went away and fishing out of the Hatchie again just isn't the same. But I had some decent luck, pulled in 2 8's, 2 10's, 1 12 and a 18. All flatheads and all in the freezer for later.
