Who all is gonna be out here this weekend? I'm at camp and my climber is hung in a tree somewhere in the woods. Hope to knock down a doe or two.

got in tree about 2:15 and around 4:30 a guy parks his quad 60 yards east and walks into the woods and circles back toward me until I whistled and waved him off. I don't know where he ended up going but he walked all over where the deer come from. Hope a doe or two get by him and come in to eat some simmons

been hunting and hanging out at camp with a couple of buddies.

Last night we were riding the atvs back to camp and had 7 or 8 does run across into the woods. Hunted by round lake this morning, didn't see anything. Around mid day I walked into the woods where we saw those deer last night, but I came in from another angle. Boom jumped two off the bed 20 yards from road.

Walked around in a circle looking for sign and climbing trees. On the way out to the road 50 yards further down, boom jumped several more off the bed.

Went to scout another place, came back to camp and took a shower and now I am in a hackberry tree between those two deer beds.

Shout out to usanglure for letting me borrow his ATV this afternoon. Makes life easier on this island.

I had to leave for afternoon to go to Super Retrievers Series at Bass Pro and left Four Wheeler for Catman to use, I can remember when I was young like him and thought the Bike would take me everywhere......
Saw a few doe too far away yesterday and today, I left 2 trail Cameras out to see if i can get pics of Monster Bucks on Camera.
But Cold front coming in so i will be there all Day tomorrow......

remember the key to hunting successfully off a four wheeler is to park is as close to the tree your hunting.
I think it has to be off before taking the shot also.

Lol just pulling you leg. Be careful on it. And make sure all your straps are rolled up tight so you don't get yanked off that thang

I like the Honda they drive pretty good. I would like to buy a used one but I don't think I'd be able to use it very much... it sure helps out here though.

I ain't hunting far from camp today. Hoping to catch deer coming to bed this morning then hunting persimmons this evening.

Last afternoon...I'm the only one left hunting on the island. Staying close to the road and ready to roll as soon as I get out of the woods. Haven't seen a deer from the stand yet. A couple of buddies saw deer and I bumped a few yesterday. I've seen two coyotes, several coons, an opossum and a bunch of squirrels. I'm in a good spot this evening, hope the deer are hungry.

Final update

I ended up seeing one doe this evening, only deer I saw from the stand all weekend. She took over an hour to give me a clear shot, she was in no hurry, very cautious and eating persimmons. Finally got a clear shot and didn't hold low enough, she also ducked a little, hit above the spine and left nothing on the arrow but a couple specks of meat...figures that's my luck...

Disappointing hunt but it was good times with the guys I camped out with, and good to see Ron (usanglure) again.

There's still a decent herd out there, it was just a bad weekend for deer movement.

Catman I was told 6 checked .... but was definitely hot... but as any time hunting they are always out of range... I saw 5 from Stand, but would not respond to fawn call to come closer..
