preserving turkey feet

Is there any other way to do the turkey feet other than drilling down the leg then putting salt down in it?

I've never done it but I've heard Borax works good

Too be honest I don't even salt them.

Ive saved several. I made 2 forms out of small plank looks like a small shelf. I place the feet in there and tack them in place so they will stand on desk etc when dry then place them in a plastic container big enuf to hold them and cover with borax for 2 or 3 months take them out clean them up with a tooth brush and then put several coats of poly urathane on them they look really nice. hope this helps
