Hey I am just seeing if there is anyone on here who will be hunting the quota bow hunt this weekend on prentice cooper. I look forward to being in the stand.

May hunt one evening midweek just to cure the urge. This is a tough hunt. Got to scout a lot to do good. Looks like we may get some rain over the weekend which should help some. Good luck

Did you have any luck there last year?
I saw deer every sit, even one decent 8. I was just slightly off with stand placement so not close enough. I'm going back to that spot this year, it was terrain based so I'm hoping its still good. Definitely a low odds hunt though, very few deer are taken.

If it's rainy weather I would say less than half and maybe less than 100 people. Deer will be moving short distance from bed to feed and to kill you got to be inside that bubble. To find the bubble you got to scout for miles. Big area. Check plots and pin oak trees for food sources. Good luck

Looks like the rain has shifted to Sunday afternoon mostly. Last year I thought there were quite a few people, all the fields were manned, but I had no trouble getting the spot I went to. Looks like it's going to be a hot one, near or at 90 degrees.

I didn't see a thing. Did see a doe being checked in. Need TWRA to patrol tonight and shut the loud drunk rednecks in the campground down, no sleep last night from the blaring bro-country.

Nothing like an opening day zero to bring you back to reality. It's showing 3 deer killed this morning. All does. Maybe the afternoon hunt will be better, or mid day with the full moon. Good luck.

Stepson and myself did an evening hunt after school and zeroed. Found a good area to hunt though. Open ridge top with acorns falling and a fresh scrape. May try it again on the juvenile hunt. It's showing 15 deer killed so far with 4 of them being bucks.
