Anyone else going to be there or just me? The upper north west corner of it will be all foot traffic only, due to road improvements.

I wonder if they're going to working on the roads while we're up there?
 
Just the one road is blocked off. It's persimmon road or somrthing. It not blocked at the main road, it's blocked up a mile or so back.
 
Does anyone know if they are going to shut the other gate on it for that weekend as well??
 
Persimmon is where 2 of my buddies killed a couple years ago. I've found a new spot that should produce this year. There were some guys we met a couple years ago that would enter through another access road off the side of the mountain. I don't know where it's at though. I would imagine it's gonna be open.

Quick question. The camp sites are first come first serve as we all know. Will we be able to setup camp tomorrow and wait till Saturday? I read somewhere that the park closes the day beforw the hunt. Any truth??

ME AND MY HUSBAND WILL BE THERE.NEVER KNOWN OF THEM CLOSING THE PARK THE DAY BEFORE A HUNT.MAYBE CLOSE TO THE PUBLIC RIDING AND CAMPING INSIDE.WHICH YOU CAN CAMP OUTSIDE THE GATE IN THAT CAMPGROUND.

The camp area is outside the gate. They close the park to public use so we can scout it on Friday. Me and a buddy will be getting there in time to hunt Saturday morning so somebody save us a spot for our tent when we get out of the woods! I know how full it gets throughout the day on Friday and there won't be any good spots to set up camp by then.

The only time they close the haley road gate is at the end of deer season till when spring turkey opens, otherwise its open, there is some private property on the north side of the road going up that they cant block access to. One of my friends has a cabin up there that we ride out to and cook out.
 
So if anyone wants to come hang out. I'm in the campsite. Maroon F250. I have cold adult beverages. Lol
 
Had a lone fawn come by at 26 yards. Man would that have been an easy drag up the hill! Anybody see anything yet?

Prentice Cooper 19th bow

I can't believe the luck I've had. Just walked in blind to a spot I marked on the map, saw a 4 pt and 3 does. I Hit a dang twig trying to shoot a doe at 40 and of course missed. I didn't really expect to see a deer, never had been here before.

No luck for us. My buddy almost stepped on a rattle snake yesterday afternoon. That was the biggest thing that happened. Good luck Monday.

I'll be better prepared next time. Ended up seeing 4 does total, 4pt, and I think the same 8 twice in 3 sits. My stand placement was just a tad off and I didn't adjust early when I should have. Wish I would have put in for an ML hunt now.

Was in the stand all day Saturday. All I saw were tree rats and some turkeys. Hunted way back on the West side of the road near a draw I thought the deer would be heading up in the evening. Couldn't hunt Sunday, and I'm "supposed" to work Monday. Well see about that. Would like to get on a food plot and see how things work out.
 
I got a shot at a tall 4 point Saturday evening. About 2 minutes before dark. 45 yards. Missed low. Saw a bunch of does and made some good friends that weekend
Hopefully this weekend is better.

I was on the far west end as well. You may have seen me. Me and my girlfriend on an atv.
