Killed 2 does yesterday on a doe freezer fill mission and found that one was pregnant while gutting her. The fetus (actually there were 2) was about 3 or 4 inches in length. Any factual knowledge about when she may have been bred? Thought that might add some knowledge to my local rut activity log.
 
I would have to have the fetuses. I have a scale that provides "days after conception" by measuring the length of the fetus.

Your exactly right but early season i don't have to see the fetus lol.
 
That is very interesting. I'm 53 and have been deer hunting since I was 13. But I learn something new from TnDeer members on at least a monthly basis.

Right, dead doe is a dead doe!! Either way no fawns from her and meat in the freezer!!!
 
I killed two last year on the next to the last day of season, and they were both pregnant, one single and one twins. I didn't take any pics. That is the first that I have ever noticed, but I have never looked for them either. I happen to see them on the first and purposely looked on the second.

It does sort of hurt your feelings, but I agree that a dead doe is a dead doe no matter whether January or September. It won't stop me from shooting one if I am on a doe mission.
