What is your preferred round for rifle season? I shoot .300 WSM and preferred is 150gr Nosler ballistic tip, although 180gr Rem Core Lokt also works well for me. All hand loaded.
 
150 grain partitions over 60 grains IMR4350 210M primer, Browning 30/06 ABolt, COL 3.340. Killed a bunch with this one, extremely confident carrying it. But Son has asked for privilege and now he has it. Opening day I will be carrying a 22-250 with 60 grain partitions sitting on top of RL15. Gonna start with the 22-250 and work my way through every rifle I own.

150 gr. Hornady Interlock spire point in .308 handloads. Shot out of Rem. 40x and Mauser 1916 Spanish. Killed about 20 with this bullet.
 
7mm08 hand loaded with a 120gr speer soft point, 25-06 hand loaded 117gr hornady balistic tip, wifes 243 hand loaded
 
Well, it all depends on whether I'm stand hunting or still hunting or maybe a combination of both. My favorite stand only rifle/round is a New England Handi-rifle in 270 WCF. It shoots far/flat/accurate. If I'm stillhunting the thick, overgrown strip pits and log cuts where a rifle will take a lot of punishment; I prefer my old Winchester 1894 in 30-30 with 170 grain silvertips. Easing through woodlands and meadows where the underbrush is not very thick I prefer a 1953 vintage Winchester Model 71 in 348 WCF shooting 200 grain silvertips.
 
Remington Core-Lokt or Hornady Interbond in every caliber. I won't shoot fast-expanding bullets anymore. I want a bullet to punch all the way through with controlled expansion.

I'm shooting a Ruger M77 Hawkeye in .270 with 130 grain Fusions topped with a Leupold VX2. My wife is shooting a Savage model 11 in .243 but her new scope is on the way so we will see what the gun likes best.
 
Probably start with 90gr fusion on .243, then move to 180gr powermax in 30-06. I've never killed a deer with either caliber, so I want to try them out.
 
130 gr Hornady Interbond in 270 WSM and 270 Win
165 gr Nosler Accubond or Solid Base in .308
130 gr Swift Scirocco in 264 Win Mag
100 gr Nosler Partition in .243
225 gr Nosler Accubond in .358
165 Gr Hornady GMX in 30-06


If I had only 1 bullet to use in all the guns I have, it would be the Nosler Partition hands down.
