Preference points

Question on the preference points. Say I have 3 points and apply for one of the draws and get selected. But when I get my results I realize that I can't go for when I'm selected and have to turn down my hunt. What happens?! Do I just forfeit my hunt this year and keep my points. Or do I lose all my points and my hunt?!

Once you are drawn for a hunt, you go back to zero preference points.
