I saw 2 nice bucks last night along with about 30 turkeys in a small patch of beans. I got in here early this morning and put my climber on and got set up. At around 6:30 the woods started crashing and I saw a whitetail flash on the first one but nothing on the 2 other animals that were about 5 seconds behind. Not sure if they were coyote or deer chasing. To dark to make out an image. Possibly pre rut chasing maybe but I dont know.

Been in stand all day and have seen 5 small bucks all about 7 to 9 inches wide and 3 does. 2 bucks hit horns a few times about 11 am which was nice to see. Turkeys came thru about 60 yards

The landowner where I hunt in greene county saw a buck chasing a doe out in the middle of his pasture yesterday.

Anything can happen but it's highly unlikely that you or anyone else right now is seeing any estrus chases. No where I know of in Tn or most other states surrounding us do the deer breed the first couple of weeks of October. Daylight changes bring about a surge in testosterone which is when the bucks begin shedding their velvet. Those surges kick start a buck's urges and usually the younger bucks display chasing does as one of the first signs. Some older bucks may fall in there as well but usually just the youngsters. They just can't handle the rush. When people see this they sometimes mistake it for the beginning of the rut. No way yet. Give them another month.
