I'm going to the shooting range at royal blue to test out my first handloads. I have loaded 11. Started at 55gr imr 4350 and moved to 58 in one grain increments. This starts at book minimum per the nosler site and ends at book max in the lee loading manual but this also stops at 1 grain short of Nosler ' s maximum.

I'm hoping I can shoot consistently enough to determine which load the model 70 likes. ( I'm a regretfully poor shot.)

Load data
Brass: rp once fired fls
Primer: cci 200 lrp
Powder imr 4350
Bullet nosler 150gr bst ( a gift from a friend member thanks!)
C.O.A.L: 3.320

Rifle 30-06 winchester model 70 post 64.

That's really close to my recipe for my 06. I think I'm at 57.4 gr of AA4350, RP brass, and 150 gr NAB's and NBT's. Good luck! Keep us updated.

Will the day was a success but I still didn't shoot my handloads. I bought a new Leupold vx-3 3.5 x 9 x 40 in the spring and I had never got around to putting it on. When I arrived at the range the old scope I had on it was so bad I didn't want to risk trying to shoot the hand loads through it and not be able to see the target well enough so I spent this trip but in my scope on. It's close enough to hunt with but I would like to spend a few more hours getting it spot on.
