My buddy and his dad just put in $18000 worth of food plots and they have a farm manager, year around, that oversees all the hunting. Stan shows up and the farm manager has done all the scouting and hung stands. He tells Stan where and when to hunt, all Stan has to do is make the shot!!!!

The Farm overseer doesn't put up stands or scout for deer, Very nice guy and if you were to meet him you'd realize that.
Not saying stands aren't put up, he was there a week hunting this year.

Stan was killing 200" bucks with a bow long long ago before he was famous and hunting prime properties! Congrats to him!!

I have always heard, since they have been leasing this property, that the manager and I cant remember his name, has always patterned the deer and put Stan on them. It did take him a little longer this year than ususal....and I could very well be getting bad info but it usually seems to be true.

who cares. it looks like a nice shooter and he's fortunate to have taken it. i say good on him for making a good kill shot. there's always going to be someone hunting a better property and harvesting a bigger buck than you so just let the dead dog lie....
Stan seems to be a good dude. I don't know him.
He has probably paid his dues. Not sure.
I don't care for that kind of hunting. I think it is absoulutely ridiculous to put that much money and effort into killing a deer but then, I don't have that much money so I guess I really can't be too objective.
I am no longer impressed with any deer taken on large, managed, private property, unless I know the hunter and how much he worked for the deer, on the "deers'" terms.
In other words...I am certain that I could gather several friends, pool our financial resources, and build a great, managed property that would likely result in a big buck kill.
I would rather find a mature buck and hunt him right where he is. On HIS turf.
BTW...I am fairly certain that is NOT a 200 inch buck.
Even in velvet.

I like Stan because he seems genuinely excited when he is hunting. I have seen him cry in the stand after making the shot. I wouldn't be ashamed of a deer I took if someone put me in a stand.
And BTW landman,
I have been on some of the better leases/lands as a guest.
It was fun to do for a change. Relaxing, different, interesting, EASY.
I took very little sense of satisfaction walking away with a dead deer from those properties. I did not "earn" them.

As far as those other bucks on the leases, why did you even shoot
one? You weren't happy with them? Or was it just to punch a tag?
Or kill a buck in front of the guys? Why even go hunting on those kind of places? At that point in my life, I think it be just better to be out in the woods thanking God for letting me be there, why load the gun at all? Hunting is what one makes it,
its personal, so its your choice my all means
