Would these be bad for the deer or would they even touch them? I see where blocks have this ingredient in them, just not sure how much. I know where there are 50# blocks to be given away and thought it was worth asking.
 
Potassium chloride is sometimes used for ice and snow removal on highways etc because it is thought to be less toxic to animals and plants than sodium chloride.
Just like sodium chloride [table salt] in excessive amounts it can be lethal.
I've never used it "on purpose" but I suspect that many mineral blocks used for wildlife and livestock have potassium chloride in them.
Would be interesting to look at the labels on some of these blocks to see what the main ingredient is.
