How often do you take your bolt apart for a good cleaning?
This one wouldn't fire every shell sometimes he had to shoot it twice.Think we found the problem?

Lotsa rifles go to the gunsmith when the only thing they need is a good cleaning like you did. That one definitely needed it. I just took apart one fresh from the factory yesterday and it didn't look all that great. You never know what's inside until you look.

I used to have to disassemble the bolt on my old Rem 700 muzzleloader. Now that thing would crud up and freeze in a heartbeat.

Maybe ask Bottom Hunter...........he seems to have some experience in that area........

I bought a slightly used Remington 700 off of an old man and it is in beautiful shape and he said he bought it back in the 80's and never took it hunting because it was so pretty, anyway, everytime you would push the saftey foward the gun would fire, very scary when there is a shell in it,I was at the range luckily had it pointed down range and flliped the saftey off and BOOM,scared the shat out of me.But I took it to the gunsmith and he said that the trigger and saftey assymbly had hardedn oil on it that would not let the parts move as they should. So its probly not a bad idea to take your trigger asymbly out and clean it also.

All firearms no matter what brand have safety problems. Safety, cleaning, and proper maintenance are problems with all of them.

Treat these as if your life depends on them, because it does.
