Happened up on a bottle of Kentucky Vintage 17 yr bourbon. It is supposedly from barrels of Willet which is high end. You have any knowledge of it?

I've tried searching reviews of it and found some older one. I know Willet is trying to compete with the Van Winkle vintages.

Yeah, here in Nashville the Pappy never reaches the shelves. The guy at the store said the KY vintage was pretty good stuff for the money. I believe the bottle was only $65. A lot cheaper than the $175 on the 21 yr Willet. There is one store here in Nashville that does some bottles of Pappy on black Friday.

I'd be interested to know what is the proof on that bottle? Buffalo Trace has started putting out limited releases of their experimental barrels in a 375 ml sample at about $67 a bottle. They cut it pretty hard before they bottle it so it is not one of my top picks but good none the less. IMO, Willet has a ways to go before they are matching the quality of Pappy but I never turn down a glass of the stuff. Dad and I always got at least one bottle of Willet between us. I am with Poser and splurge every year for at least one bottle of Stagg. Buffalo Trace has some of the best distillers under their label and you can't go wrong with any of their offerings. If you don't like that bottle you can send it my way and I'll drink it for you!

Found a bottle of Stagg last night. Right next to it was a bottle of WL Weller. Both 2011 releases. I'm wanting to go back and get the Stagg. Owner said they would hold it for me, but I told them if they sold it before I was back, I don't need it. I believe it was around 70-something proof range. Sure did look good in that tall clear bottle.
