Someone tried to break in my truck yesterday. Had to put a new handle on my passenger door. They tried to pop it out with a screwdriver.

Bass are still eating it up. Catching them in 15-20 feet of water. They have been hanging right on the edge of the drops. Caught them yesterday on a 700 bandit, citrus color. Had 9 that would measure over 15". Just glad I had to pick up blob archery targets that I have sold or I would have fished another hour or so. I may have ran off whoever was trying to break in my truck. There were people fishing from the bank by the ramp and other vehicles parked. No valuables in my truck, sure makes you mad when it happens.

sorry about that. I have heard bad stories about the ramp below old hickory dam. I leave nothing valuable in the truck except the stereo when I go fishing there. I hope it is never broken into. I think it is the sorry immigrants, probably illegals, who do it down there.

I have never fished up there. Sounds like my kind of fishing, cranking the drops. I'll trade you a trip on Normandy or Tims Ford for a trip up there.

I live right down the road so that's the ramp I use the most. I've seen quite a few charter members of the scuzzball society down there recently.

Boat ramps have been havens for thieves for decades. They seem to run hot and cold, except Old Hickory Dam. That place has always been bad. Marinas aren't exactly safe either. Elm Hill has had its issues.

Got any tips to protect your truck while you are out fishing? Other than the obvious locking and not leaving valuables.

No tips from me. I've never had anything happen to my vehicle at a boat ramp, but I've had friends that weren't so lucky. The worst part is some of the idgits can't get the stereo out, so they beat the crap out of it and the dash. We need some judges that have actually had something of theirs stolen or damaged by thieves. We can't legally kill'em or cut appendages off, so we have to rely on the legal system. It ain't working.

Crankin on Normandy has been off this year for some reason. Maybe low water levels? But the plastic bait bite has been really good, esp. Carolina Rig.

I leave my doors unlocked as well as my glove box door open. I have a short piece of chain that connects the trailer to the bumper. Even if they pop the cheap lock off the hitch latch, they have to bolt cut the chain. I use a vintage steering wheel lock. There is nothing to steal unless they want to go grand theft felony auto. This is not 1955.
