Polls?

Unless the biased media has a boner for your school like some we're aware of
if your talking about Alabama then they fell in the rankings after every loss.
In the AP poll Tennessee fell 4 spots to #10. I think that's a good ranking after a loss.
I think Tennessee will move up if they win out.

I think Tennessee still has a decent shot to get in. Remember, #2Ohio state and #5 Indiana still have a regular season match-up. The winner then gets #1 Oregon in chip game.

Also still have #3 Texas vs #15 A&M still to come in regular season. If the SEC sends A two loss team to the sec chip game, and they get handed a 3ed loss how far do the fall?

Miami is set to take on SMU in the ACC chip at the moment I don't believe the loser gets in.

Same for BYU vs Colorado. I don't believe the loser of that chip game gets in eighter.
Only with the help of Lane Kiffin

That would make the most sense but due to the auto bids from conference champions it won't work that way.
I hate the auto bids. SEC is really going to have a dilemma on even choosing who should be in the SECCG at this point, so I doubt that the playoff committee will have it easy (or get it right) either

There will have to be a couple teams losing for UT to get in, like two of Miami, Ole Miss or Notre Dame. And UT will also need Texas to beat Texas A&M because Texas will not fall below UT if they lose and A&M will jump ahead of UT if they win. Alabama is a lock unless they get in and lose conference championship game, so their best bet is to hope they don't.

I hate the auto bids also.
The goal should be to get the 12 best teams. We can argue and disagree on who the 12 best teams are but the goal should be to get the 12 best teams.

Favorites never see they are treated any differently but everyone else does

Good ole vols checkerboard math in play.

That's true sometimes but not always. Alabama has received special treatment in the past but I don't see it here.
Sometimes it's used as an excuse.
I see a team beaten by both UT and Vandy with the same record as UT, ranked higher than UT. Surely you see that it was purely cache that tipped the scales?

I see a team that was beaten last weekend fall in the polls. Same as every other team that was beaten. When those teams fall other teams move up. That's how polls have always worked. I think the rankings would be the same if the teams were reversed.

Just gonna have to agree to disagree on this one

Thru all of this one thing has remained the same for years, and that's that if you lose early, you have an advantage/time to climb back up in the polls, and losing late in the season takes that advantage away significantly.
Exactly what I was going to say. It's not necessarily who you lose to but when you lose. It happens every year.
