2007 Hawkeye. 2nd owner (bought from friend 2yrs ago).
Sat about a month. Started it and ran decent then acted as if it was going to stall. Revved it up and seemed to correct it. As if it had water or trash in it.
2 weeks later seems to idle weak and shut off once while idling.
Should I drain gas and add new? Add fuel additive? Or both? Adjust idle?

Replace the spark plug, drain the gas and fill it up with non ethanol gas ad a small amount of seafoam and oh yeah don't forget to clean the air filter. These steps should get it running strong

More than likely the pilot jet is stopped up too.
I'd do all the above and also drain the carb bowl as well.

If that doesn't correct the problem you'll have to pull carb off and clean it or you can probably buy an aftermarket carburetor for under $40. I usually do the later.

I would pull the carb bowl off. Remove the pilot jet and clean it with a small wire strand from a wire brush. Clean the hole in the center of the pilot jet along with the emulsion holes on the sides. Reassemble with fresh fuel, fresh fuel filter.
