My cousin and my dad finished up the last of our plots today. This particular one is ~ 1 acre. We put about 500 lbs of bag lime on it to start with. We decided to go with a mix of wheat, oats, winter peas, ladino clover, and crimson clover for the majority of the plot. We slightly increased the size of this plot from last year. We planted about half the new area in a brassica mix. The other half we just added some of the brassica seed to our other mix. I'm curious to see if the deer eat any of the turnips, kale, etc., as I've never had any luck with it before, but the neighboring landowner says the deer used to kill his turnip patch before he started planting with something different.

This little guy didn't even wait for them to leave before coming out to feed on some of the clover left in the plot from last year.
