Plaque for European Mount

I just finished up my very first DIY European Skull Mount. I'm quite proud of it - I feel like it came out great. Not a taxidermy worthy rack, but I still have a fun, unique way to display it.

But, I'd like to know if any of you have ordered any European Mount display plaques off of Amazon (or anywhere else) that you really like or think look good. If so, pictures and ordering links would be appreciated.

I've looked at them on Amazon, of course, but online photos rarely give you an accurate feel of the real thing. Hopefully y'all can help me with that.

I use Skull Hookers to hang them on. I think you can get them at Amazon and MidwayUSA.

2nd this source if you want a presentation style plaque.

Use a hand rail bracket. It is much cheaper than a specific hanger and works well.

I agree, those work great, and were once very inexpensive as compared to deer specific ones, but the deer specific ones are getting cheaper.

I am working on one now for my nephew. Not the euro seen here…this is a smaller one I got years ago just mocked up. I found this rub about 10 foot from where his buck went down so I thought it would personalized it a little.

To make it fit the wall a little better I took my saw and cut the large section completely in half so it lays flat on the wall and then shaped the smaller piece to fit. Then drill a small hole right where both pieces meet and glue in a wooden dowel at the right angle and it'll fit right in the hole in the back of the skull. Now I don't have pictures of his deer rubbing on this tree, but I have a lot of pictures of him in that area so it's possibly his rub.

Bought boards at Hobby Lobby and took a torch to them to give them the burnt weathered look. Believe I drilled a hole through the back and glued a wooden dowel rod through for it to hang on and also put a screw through it into the skull to stabilize it. Out of town or I'd look.
