planting food plots in pines?

the pines are in rows big enough to get a tractor through , thought about clearing out 5-6 rows, tilling , fertilizing , and planting i just dont know if it will turn out or not ? what do you think about it ?

Do you think the ground would get at least 4 hours sunlight per day? Also which direction do the rows run? East to West would get the most sun.

Sunlight can get threw pines better than any other tree.

you know they say all the pine needles are real acidic

Exactly...pine raises the alkalinity in soil. you need to test for success.

I have a friend in GA that plants plots like this. His pines get to 10-15ft tall, he takes the tractor and mows out several lanes and makes big plots. He limbs the pines as high as he can and WOW what some plots.

The most shade tolerant food plot is sub-clover.
