I have an acre clover field I planted 4 yrs ago. Thinking of resowing and throwing turnips in with it, will this work? Will clover come up good in spring?

Last year I included Buck Forage oats into my fall plantings for clover. It has been my experience that clover planted in the fall does not produce enough fall forage. The deer went crazy over the Buck forage oats. When spring rolled around I began mowing the plot. Now I have a lush clover plot.It was my first time planting the Buck Forage Oats and I will never buy any oat other than BUCK FORAGE. Dr. Deers videos are no B.S their oats are 6 times larger/thicker per seed than the cheap oats

Planted Buck Forage Oats 3 years ago, waste of money in my opinion for what they charge for a sack of them. Deer didnt hardly touch them. Planted turnips, peas, winter wheat and winter rye last year. Covered up with deer, especially late gun season

As for the clover, you might want to consider a soil test and fertilizing the plot. Then maybe doing a dose of Slay if yo have bad broadleaf issues, if your clover is thin and you think it is not going to make it then a "re-do" may be the best thing. Every clover field or plot I have seen this year is doing fantastic, even heavy grazed cattle pastures are doing good. It might be your clover has played out or didnt recover from the previous years drought/heat.

Why? We plant brassica in our clover plots every year. Our experience is that this is almost a perfect combination. By the time the clover gets grazed down in winter, the brassica is coming on strong. Red clover pops in March, followed by Yucchi & then Landino. Truley a year round high protein source and doubly so this year with all the rain. Just sowed 20 clover plots with brassica this weekend.
They do dig up the turnips for sure in late winter, but our clover has always bounced back with no problem. Funny how deer in one area will eat the brassica and others won't...I think that it was 2008 when we first started planting it.
For those who add brassica, rape, or other green winter plants to established clover plots:

Top sow when rain is imminent.
Sowing the small seed right in front of rain is what we have always done up to this year.
With all the rain, our clover is so lush & thick I was afraid that the brassica wouldn't have much of a chance with overseeding. I tillered strips about 20' wide down the middle and planted them with Maximum & Daikin turnips 3 weeks ago.
